The Mysterious Gift; Day One

Its the first day of the month. Today is a normal day. The sky is beautiful, clear and blue despite the cool weather of December (or warm if you live in Somniis). You are out and about, going through your day with a happy spirit. Suddenly a young child with a cloak around her ran up to you. Her hood was over her head hiding her face from the people around her. Something was tucked in her fingers as she ran to you. She held it so tight that it looked like her fingers would fall off, as if it depended on her life to keep it safe. The girl was young, maybe 8 years old. 

She was currently looking behind her, as if she were being chased by someone though you don't see anyone coming after her. When she turns her head back around she runs right into you. You grab her to make sure you both don't go falling backward and she panics and screams. But after a couple words to calm her, no matter how soft or angry they are, she relaxes and looks up at you. Her eyes scream fear and you wonder how that is on such a fine day like this. 

After a moment of silence on her part and you trying to get information out of her, she shoves a small box in your hands and says, "This is for you. This box is special. But it only works during the holiday month at the end of the year. Today is the first day and it has chosen you to have it. It will only work for you once. Next year, you have to give it to someone else. But be careful, THEY want it. And whatever they want they get. Don't let them find you! They will look like everyday people and could even look like your best friend. Don't show it to anyone! And every time you open it, don't let people know where you get anything you find inside. And make sure that only you use what you find. It they get ahold of the stuff, it could be disastrous!"

And with that, the little girl pulled away from you and ran in another direction. One which you didn't see because you were so entranced with the box you held in your hand.

[Stryker]

As Stryker made his way around the forest, a peculiar human was running. An odd looking human. Running from something. He thought, as it took a few minutes for him to register that the child was going to run him over. "Oof! Scy scyther scy!!!!" Which translated to: "Watch where you're going stupid!" He cried as he pushed her upright, instead of falling on top of him. Hearing her panic and scream made him wince, "Scy! Scyther SCY ther!" Which again, was translated into: "Stop screaming! It's not like I'm going to eat you! CALM DOWN please! And tell me what's going on." He yelled at her, forgetting the humans don't speak pokemon. After a moment of silence on her part, and Stryker gesturing, trying to get information out of her, she shoved a slightly spherical box into his arms. He listened to her talk about something with the box, somethings wanting it, he looked at her quizzically while trying to hold the box steady in his scythe arms. Pretty hard if you asked him how he did it. Thinking that she might be psycho, he only paid attention with a doubtful mind. What in Arceus is she trying to say to me? he thought fumbling with the slightly round box. Hearing her run away somewhere else, Stryker examined the box's exterior. If it's that important, why give it to a lowly bug? WHY couldn't she give it to a human? He thought. The round box had sparkly emerald green wrapping paper. My favorite color. he thought absently. Next, the ribbons tying it together was gold with silver vine-like patterns. It looks very pretty, and it even has a ruby red bow on top! He thought, looking around him in case some pokemon was watching. I feel like a girl. What's wrong with me today? He thought, trying to look under the box. Underneath it had some unknown runes, spelling out Be grateful. "What kind of gift tells me to be grateful to it?" He mumbled under his breath, a bit annoyed at the inanimate object. The box felt heavy for a small thing, leaving Stryker a bit excited, wondering what was inside the box. Other than the wrapping paper, ribbons and the bow, there was finally tiny stars stuck on the wrapping paper, popping out slightly. Oh joy, I can make a wish on those. he thought sarcastically. "I suppose I should go home and open it. Weird girl told me to open it in secret, not let anyone know where I got it I think. I suppose I should at least follow what she said, however weird she was. A gift is a gift, best not to look it in the eye." he said, securing the box and flying back to his home at the top of the tree.

[Odette Nevermore]

Odette was merely minding her business, then everything changed as this random female seemed to take her on this huge adventure.. Then leave a box, this box.. A box with three clashing colors that seemed to swirl together, wrapped in a silver ribbon. She did not even know what to do with it.... She did not even get to say thank you, or no thank you, or anything.. She didn't even get to ask the women who she was... Should she open the box? What should she do? She just stared at it... What to do? What to do? She decided whatever may be in the box.. Or whatever this gift is... It will be best somewhere safe.. She headed toward the castle.. From there to her room.. From there she laid it on her bed and dared to open it.

[Erra]

Wait... Wait.. Wait.. Wait.... hold up! stop stop! Wait! Then gone... That is what it was... What just happened? How did that happened? Before this whole event even happened, Erra did not even see the girl's deathdate.. She knew absolutely nothign about this person... Was this one of Cresselia's visions? Was this all a lie? What just happened? What is going on? She could not grasp what just happened, how she is holding this gift with plants growing on one side and nothing but black and death on the otherwise... What? What? Erra sat down, what? What just happened? How.... "Cresselia! This is not funny! Haven't you done enough?" She sat the box next to her on the ground... Should she look inside? what if it was cresselia just screwing with her? Her curiosity soon got the best of her and she looked inside, thinking pretty fancy glitter would pop out.

[Natu]

"Wohooo1!!!!! This is awesome! Let's go again! Come on! Let's do it again!" Natu gave a dance in pure joy and then turned to see the woman trying to give her a gift, that looked to be as random as Natu's false personalty"For me! You shouldn't have!!" almost no care in the world... Though she watched from her side eyes as she pretended to greedily unwrap the gift, only to see the woman turn and ran... What the? She opened the box to find it so plain... Just like Natu's true reality.. Plain and boring... On the bottom of the box though.. was...

[Justice]

As the series of events unfold before Justice, he processes it just like any other situation. He graciously catches the girl before she falls, all the while wondering what she could possibly have been running from.

"Young one, I don't think--"

Justice stops mid-sentence as he listens to the girl's explanation while accepting the box. Hearing what the girl was saying, Justice can only imagine what the girl means by "them". He looks behind her to see nothing out of the ordinary. Justice, however, doesn't take the girl for a liar, as he wouldn't question a child without reason.

As the girl runs off, Justice decides to heed the girl's warning and leave to somewhere more private. Quickly, he makes his way back to Fraer. After some twists and turns he is sure would turn anyone around, Justice sneaks into the back entrance of the Savage Inn. He walks back to his room and places the box on his bed, next to the two eggs resting quietly on the pillows at the head.

Upon further examination of the box, Justice notices the tiny details that are making themselves evident. The white exterior, covered in triangles of pink and lavender, triangles which glow. The entire box look like a cube version of his special egg. The only difference is the handle, which is a purple rose made of glass or a crystal of some sort. Justice opens the box to peer inside, noticing that the box begins to play a tune. How pretty Justice thinks as he waits for his eyes to process the contents, all the while, Justice memorizes each note of the music, just for fun he supposes..

[Sir Geoffrey]

As Geoffrey walks along this trail, he wonders if perhaps he is needed back at the castle. He wonders if, maybe, someone has missed him. He wonders if perhaps he shouldn't have come all the way out here for his break. Geoffrey sloughs these thoughts off and out of his mind as he sees a girl frantically running toward him. He wonders if perhaps she is playing a game ot "tag" or "hide-and-go-seek", games he had only ever heard about.

When Geoffrey sees the girls face and the emotion it holds, however, it becomes apparent that the girl isn't running from a playful friend. In fact, Geoffrey would assume the girl isn't running from a friend at all, considering the fact that she just ran head on into him out of oblivious fear.

After almost falling over himself, Geoffrey catches the girl to the best of his ability, making sure to touch her with his gloves rather that his hands. After sweeping himself off a bit, he starts to adress her, however, he is interrupted when the girl hands him a little box.

Wha? What is.. As the girl explains her predicament, Geoffrey feels increasingly sad for the delusions this girl must be suffering from. He looks at the box for just a mere moment before looking back up, ready to ask the girl if she needs help or assistance. However, when he looks up and the girl is gone, Geoffrey decides that he might as well open the box, considering she did say it was his. Just before opening the box, Geoffrey remembers what the girl had said about the "them" following her. Geoffrey decides to find some shelter first, so he turns around and heads back for the castle.

Upon arriving at the castle, Geoffrey makes his way toward the royal kitchen, where he slams the doors shut and wraps some of his string around the handles, preventing them from being easily opened. For some reason, on the way back, Geoffrey had become increasingly paranoid of his situation and is now being excessively careful.

He enters the pantry, which he knows has an exit into the cellar in case he should need to escape, and looks closely at the box. He is awestruck at the intricate design of the box in his hands. The purple velvet surrounding the box seems of a quality texture, however, the eye opener, is the black lace surrounding the velvet. The many tiny images created by such small threads amazes Geoffrey. He opens the top, which is a red heart with a gold image on its top. While peering inside, Geoffrey can only imagine what could be waiting or the other side. Both of the box, and of the doors.

[Violet Grimshaw]

As Violette walks along the road she has found herself on, she notices just how pretty the winter could be. Even in Diamond, the cold has a sort of cleansing property to it.. As she walks on the generally flat land, strange for Diamond yet present, she notices a young girl running toward her with seemingly nothing behind her for her to be running from, and nothing in front of her to be running to. Well, she does, however, it's more like Into.

As the young girl collides with Violette, she is quite flustered, considering she doesn't truly know how to deal with children, despite the fact that she was a child just years before this time plane.

She blushes slightly as she looks at the little one who ran into Violette, barely shifting her balance at all. Violette begins to respond to the little girl with both sternness and kindness.

"Young lady, if I were you, I'd surely watch where I was going. You could hurt someon--"

After being handed the box, Violette stops speaking as she listens to the girl's explanation for her strange behavior. Violette doesn't know why, but she believes every word the girl just said. She looks behind the young child and, despite the absence of any "them" to be spoken of, she still feels a sense of urgency as she waits for the girl to finish. Looking down at the box she has been handed, Violette looks up to ask a question, only to find that the girl has run off.

Violette decides to head back to the castle, which is exactly what she does. Upon arriving, Violette makes her way into the weapons section of the training rooms. She stands near the throwing weapons section as she looks at the box, all the time ready to attack should anything appear for her.

The box in her hand surprises the purple haired girl, as its beauty and shape seem to defy the normal appearance of normal boxes. The black and purple color cheme that reminds her of a time far too far in the future, the strange bubbles on top that serve as the handles, and the wings. The wings are the most noticed part of the box. Small wings are attached to the sides of the boxes which look oh so similar to the wings she would form in her final transformation.

She opens the box, carefully gripping the strange bubble like handles, hoping to find something interesting inside.

[Hikari]

Hikari was walking through the street when suddenly a girl ran into her. As the girl screamed, Hikari merely stood there and waited for the girl to calm down, or run. When she calmed herself, and tried to explain her fear, Hikari smiled sadly at the girl, explaining: "I need not fear, then. I have no friends for them to imitate." The girl ran off, though, leaving the strange box behind. Hikari looked down at the box, which had caused the girl such energy.

It was wooden, and obviously old. Possibly an heirloom? It had a small key in the side, except the hole was a circle, with no way to pull the key's teeth out. Interested, Hikari turned the key, and heard something inside click, and the lid slowly opened as if pushed from within...

[Claire De'Lune]

Claire walks along the beach happily, singing some tune she's had in her head for a while. She looks at the ocean, wondering about everything that has happened to her so far. Of in the distance, Claire sees a little girl treading through the sand at a rather quick speed. As the girl gets closer, it looks as if the small girl is running from something, however, there is no one within sight that would even be able to chase her.

As the girl gets within a few feet of Claire, she realizes the girl will run right into her if she doesn't stop. So, rather than dodge out of the way, Claire lowers herself to the girl's level and embraces the little child. What a cute little thing Claire thinks as the child screams and writhes.

Claire merely pats the girl on the head, seemingly calming the lone child. After being handed the box, Claire's eyes begin to sparkle with a joy like no other. "Oh my goodness! A present? For me!? Oh you shouldn't have! I don't even know you!"

After hearing what the girl said, all the while aching to open the box, Claire walks down the beach a bit before walking up past the shore into a dense, tree filled section of the island, completely forgetting about the flgifter she left behind. While walking, Claire observes the box in her hands. The little pink box with the teal butterfly on top, and the ribbon holding the box together, and the pretty curls the ribbons make as she feels them with her fingers. All of this makes Claire just wants to dive into the box and not worry about what's inside. But, she decides to open it, despite her wish to not disrupt the beauty of the box. As she peers inside, she feels anticipation flow through her as her eyes widen. Boy, I sure do love presents!

Nix had merely been hiding with shadow at her side and tain asleep with her, she hadnt been doing much today because it was so nice that she wanted to just sit around and enjoy it. The girl appearing before her had made her start and she moved forwards to protect her from whatever came after her but nix saw nothing, a frown slowly grew across her face but none the less she was worried. She was one to look out for young people who seemed in need, though the words that came from the girl and the box pushed in to nix's hands was very confusing, "but why? What is it?" nix asked as she looked down at the little box but the girl was off and running already by the time she looked up. Nix looked down at the box in her grasp, it was small and black in color but had a dark purple ribbon around it to keep it closed. It seemed plain enough and nix was very tempted to shake it to see what was inside but she thought better of it, she didnt want to break it if it was something soft. But she had just been given it, maybe she should peak inside. She pulled at the ribbon which fell away in her fingers, it was soft against her skin and felt like some kind of velvet. Nix shrugged and then tugged at the lid of the box, what had she been given in such a rush?

Kari was walking down the street with her eyes watching all those who walked pass her, missa was walking along behind her with careful steps. The girls paused beside a small stall and kari looked over the few things therte, nothing she needed or wanted even to sell. Missa gave a sharp mew and kari looked up to see a small girlr unning towards her and she blinked, what was going on? The girl came to her side and spoke rushed and kari just stared, what the.... "slow down kiddo, what are you?" she asked before she felt the box being pushed in to her hands. She looked down at the thing, it was small. It was something she wouldnt even give a second look to on a table or in a pocket, it was dark brown like old paper with an old fraying ribbon wrapped around it. Kari raised an eyebrow and then shrugged, she pulled on the lid as the old ribbon fell away and she looked inside to see what was so important

Scyther;; A sphere of special iron that can be made into anything. It gives whatever is made into the ability to have small amounts of good luck wherever they go. Works at random times. You would need a staff member to confirm if it works at that moment or not.

Odette;; Inside is a beautiful necklace made out of silver. The pendant has a very detailed design of three roses being connected by vines. The top most rose is a pure white. The one on the bottom right is a blood red. And the one on the bottom left is jet black. This has no special purpose other then to look beautiful. Can be sold for a high price of 2000pp.

Erra;; Within this box is a special white flower. Lasts forever while being grown and cared for. The leaves hold the power over a deadly poison if eaten. And the petals hold a healing ability over sickness and disease.

Natu;; A smaller box of picklock items can be found in here. There is nothing specifically special about them.

Justice;; Within the inside of the box there is a mirror. This mirror is special in the way that he can scurry anyone he wants to see except those protected by magic and those under the protection of a deity. (Meaning Camellia, Kane, Geoffery, Emilio, lucifer, and anyone else who is under a deity's quest or watch. Read bio histories to make sure.) Also he cannot see anyone in Somniis, and to know the surroundings of the person he would have had to have been there before.

Geoffery;; A leather bound journal is wrapped within the box along with a feather pen. The pages of the journal never run out even though it looks like a normal sized book. When pages are turned it has the illusion of turning, but you can never reach the end. The pen always has ink and never runs out, but can only be used in the journal.

Violette;; The sandals that are pulled out of the box give the wearer the ability to hover off the ground. This can be very useful during fights and needing to get somewhere quickly. However, this cannot be used over water and they need something to push them to move. Without the push they will be stuck in place.

Hikari;; Inside is a beautiful Key. With this key she can open any door. It it small enough to fit on a necklace and thin and long enough to go through any length of locks.

Claire;; The item within the box is a beautiful white collar, meant to fit around the neck of a pokemon, any pokemon can wear it as it will adjust to the size and shape of the pokemon's neck. This collar allows the pokemon the ability to manipulate light patterns. The power isn't too strong and can't hurt anyone, but it can make a pretty cool light show depending on which pokemon has control over it. Dark Pokemon cannot use this item and it works best on Normal and light Pokemon.

Nix;; Within the box is a pair of leather gloves. These gloves will allow the wearer to touch any pokemon without cutting/burning/freezing or causing any other pain to the wearer's hands. Will only protect the hands. Nothing else is protected by it's magic.

Kari;; A lovely silver dagger with unknown ruins is pulled out of the box. There is nothing special about it other then its down right beautiful appearance and the ability to reflect the girl's true person from within the blade.

The Flash Back; Day Two

Yesterday, you met the young girl who gave you the gift box. You never saw her again, although you remembered all of what she had told you the day before, the information haunting your dreams that night as if everything were true. You wake up feeling restless and telling yourself that you needed to get a grip with your nerves. Even though you may or may not be a strong person on the inside, those nightmares still give you the shivers. 

You go throughout your day like normal, trying your hardest not to feel anxiety about each person you meet. Could this person be one of "them?" Surely not. And although nothing eventful happens throughout your day you still have the strangest feeling like your being watched. The girl's panicked voice was still fresh in your mind. 

But when you go to open your box for the second time your heart lifts, just a little, like it was the joy of the surprise that cheers you up. This time, the box looks old in your fingers, as if its about to fall apart. Its wooden with nothing super special about it. when you pull off the top and look inside you see nothing. It is completely empty. Confused, you search the box, even looking for a secret compartment if you look at it long enough.

But when you give up and move to put the box down you find yourself in a place completely different from where you actually were. The world around you had no color at all. But it looked very familiar. You end up watching a scene from your past. 

Describe the scene to me? Who is there? What is being said? What is happening? Is it a happy scene or not? Choose wisely this scene will effect your gift and your Day Three part of the story. Some may differ between characters. Also, the scene will end within the first ten minutes of it. When it does your character appears right back where they were with the box in their hand and the item in the box.

Kari awoke with a start, missa was standing over her with worried eyes and the girls looked at each other with concern. Kari never worried about things. She was very good at it, she was a cold person naturally. All she could see was the little girl fleeing in the darkness towards shadows with kari following up behind her, her hands swiping out with her new dagger from the box but reaching nothing. She had woken 3 times from the dream already but now the sun peaked in to the little house she stayed in and she nodded, she had to get up. Go somewhere. She pushed open the door, her new dagger strapped against her wrist and the box in her hand as she walked down the street. She couldnt help but feel on edge, something she wasnt used to so only annoyed her more.

She sighed and then looked at her box again, The little thing seemed almost older and more dirty than it had been before. She raised an eyebrow before she shook her head, she had to be seeing things. She looked up only to see herself in a whole new place, she started backwards and bumped in to missa in the process before her mind caught up with her eyes. She knew this scene. She was a young girl, playing in the back room of her parents tiny house and she had heard them talking about another girl. Kari leaned her head against the door in time to hear her mother say that she missed her and why did they have kari around now. The little girl had stepped back in horror and turned away only for her father to come in and ask her if she was ready for bed, kari turned to him with tears running down her face and he had sighed and shook his head. The memory stung kari right to the core and she turned with a hand reaching out, missa moved to her freinds side and rubbed her head against the kari.
