Perish Song: A single bit of magic was given to Kane when he visited the god Palkia. In exchange for a quest, the deity gave him the ability to create a fake world around him and his opponent. Within this world he can hear the worst fear of his enemy and only the fear. He could use that to create an illusion around his opponent. However, for sake of his sanity, he only uses this when he needs to fight. The problem with the ability is that it is slowly deteriorating his mind and knowledge of the real world. Coming from a very rich and well known family, Kane definitely knows how to dress in royal style. Always wearing clean and proper clothes that compliment his thin, fragile body Kane seems to never cease to impress the people around him. He plays his part and he plays it well. And he knows it. Kane was born a fragile child and so grew as a fragile child. He has a very thin, nicely built body, that isn't much good for anything except looking good. He isn't strong and he isn't quick. But it is all made up for with his mind and intelligence. His eyes are a deep crimson red, with a gaze that makes you want to crawl deep inside yourself and hide there for the rest of your life. They are rather timeless and emotionless.
His hair is jet black with a slightly purple shine in the light. It falls across and around his face, giving him an creepy anti-social air about him. Almost as if he were planning or plotting something behind his lifeless eyes. His skin is very pale and quite soft due to never lifting a finger of physical work in his life.

Kane is not a very expressive person. He keeps many of his emotions hidden due to his training as a child. He can be very professional in the way he does things and the way he thinks. He thinks about all angles and all sides of the story, doing his best not to leave anything out. He uses this calm personality and deep thought to advice his Queen. He leaves nothing under the stone. Along with his diplomatic intelligence comes the easy tongue. Smooth and calm, Kane is able to get himself out of almost anything that comes his way. He also uses it quite a lot to speak into diplomatic situations that go against the queen. Or he'll use it for his own personal gain. It is one reason why he rose to the top of the food chain so quickly.
While the only thing in his way of being King of the Diamond Kingdom is the Queen herself, he has found that he cannot remove her. Not because he has been blinded by her sweet talk or her mask. But because he has found a respect for her that he cannot explain. Almost as if she were so close to his own self that he would much rather live under her rule then to take her out of the competition and rule himself. He has told her this. But this doesn't stop him from getting himself closer and closer into her mind...
He prefers not to fight physically, but rather mentally. With poisonous words and a sweet sticky tongue. He would rather watch a guard fight for him then use his gift, which he is very careful about spilling. He is afraid of the power it gives to him, which brings nightmares to him. He is afraid of the hunger that tends to slip into his mind while using the power.

xx History
Being the last born child of three children (the first two elder daughters) to the Royal family of Duke Alexander, he automatically became the heir of the family being male, due to Alexander's Olivae heritage. However, It was midnight that night on the summer solstice. Indicating that he may possibly be more then the head of the family. But his father's hope was scattered as the boy became the age of three. The boy was just too kind for his own good. The boy never cried. Never whined. And he was always smiling. This went on even up to the age of five years old. That was when Alex became desperate. As the head of the whole of Rafferty family and the Rafferty inheritance, Alex needed an heir, and he preferred the heir to be male. He was really pleased when his son was born even if he was the third child, but was disappointed to find that he wasn't what he was looking for as a family head. So on his fifth birthday, Alex went to find an instructor to teach Kane the necessities of becoming family head. He found a mysterious man that went by the name of Kash. Kash was a private tutor for wealthy families. He would teach anything the parents wanted taught. So Alex invited him to his house to take a look at little Kane.
Kash was unimpressed with Kane's personality and agreed that he would be needed to help change the boy's attitude. He agreed to the invitation under the condition that Kane be trained and kept separate from the rest of his family. He stated that it would be easier for the boy to concentrate on his studies without the distractions. Alex hesitantly agreed against the will and protests of his wife.
He separated out the entire east wing of his estate for his son and instructor. Special maids and butlers were stationed in this area to care for Kane's needs. As required, Kane would be taught respect, confidence, pride, several high languages, how to read and write, math, history, horseback riding, and speech lessons. Anything that Kash might think he would need would also be added to the list.
So the two agreed. On his 10th birthday, Kane would be introduced back into the family to see how he would react to then. And this was the day Kane became lonely. He had been fond of his sister Ellie when she hadn't been by herself. But now it was only him and the servants, of whom he began to cherish greatly. The first two years were very much what had been agreed on with Alex being the only other human to visit Kane every other week to see how his training was coming along. But nothing seemed to have changed about the boy except that he had developed a great sadness. He was excited to share with his father all the things he had learned, but nothing about his personality seemed to be changing the boy so he began to doubt Kash's abilities.
Alex then decided to take his training to the next level. To pound the aspect of Royalty into his every thought. With an interesting smile Kash agreed. So a new level of training was started for the boy. Exercises of importance. At least that was what Alex thought was going on. Kash had promised excellence by the boy's 10th birthday, and that was what he was going to achieve. Kash began to use other means of training. Experiments and exercises that strained Kane's Emotions, Mental Capacity, Body, and Behavior.
As time went on, Kane did begin to change. He started to shift between two completely different selves. One with a quiet voice and skittish, fearful tendencies. The other with out shown emotions, feeling of pain, or concept of fear. He would drift between the two personalities at random. But nearer to his 10th Birthday, the fearful quiet personality slipped away and would appear less often. The emotionless one became the default, and to Kash's delight he was exactly as Alex wanted.
Alex didn't know the true details of how his son became so brilliant by the age of 10 or how he had completely changed in personality. He didn't really care either. His only care was that the boy was how he wanted. An heir he could control.
On Kane's 10th birthday, he was reintroduced as Kane Rafferty, the current Heir to the family head and the family inheritance. This was also the day he was taken to the cave of eggs. As he went around the room, touching each cool smooth shell, the whole family became silent. It was a long while before anything really happened. But when his fingers brushed the last egg it began to shiver. A Purrloin was born that evening.
As Kane grew older, he became even less social with his family. Nothing seemed to make him happy except for his sister Ellie, who was the middle sister. He felt like nothing within his own family was good enough for him and moved to become even greater. He went through more schooling and excelled in diplomatic classes, passing all of his peers. It took several years for him to achieve greatness. But it wasn't until he made a trip to the top of Diamond Mountain that he became even more valuable to the people. In exchange for a quest to help bring Camellia to the thrown rather then her brother Justice. So, easily taking to the thought, and possibly becoming king himself, he went to fix the problem, helping Camellia take out her brother and ascend to the thrown, on the account that Kane himself be given a high position beside her.
So they worked together to bring Justice down and lift her onto the thrown. When this was finished, Kane returned to the Mountain and met Palkia there. After a few words exchanged Kane gained the ability of Perish Song, along with a warning to use it wisely. Upon returning from the mountain Camellia fired the old advisor and made Kane her new one. Finding that he came to respect her, Kane pulled back from his original plan to take her over and decide to get as close to her as possible instead.
