The Reaper's Game~The UG

[Fenrir]

You wake up lying face first on a dirt road in the middle of Twaina Town (or a strange town if your character has never been to Olivae). As you get up, you see the streets are crowded with people going about their daily lives. Several people come walking towards you, and before you can get out of their way----they walk right through you, as though you don't exist. As you look around, you can see that no one in the crowd acknowledges your presence, no matter what you do.

It appears you are at a major crossroads just outside the Wine Storehouse. Standing in front of the shipping entrance (which is wide open, for some strange reason) is a man in a bright red cloak, is face hidden in the hood's shadow. to your left is a fountain with many people sitting around it enjoying the view as water pours out of a statue of a woman holding a water jug. to your right is a street heading towards the main marketplace. Standing in the middle of the road is another man in a bright red cloak. It's hard to tell because you can't see his face, but it looks like this man could be the others twin.



You feel a weird itching on your arm. As you look down, you see that some invisible force is writing a message on the inside of your forearm:

You feel a painful jolt as the message is finished, and on the palm of your hand is now the number 500. as you watch, it ticks down to 499. If you wait, it will tick down to 498...

Noise Report: none right now, but they can smell the fresh meat, and are already on the way. You don't have long.

NOTE: If you attempt to walk past a Reaper (the fellows in the red cloaks), end your post as you step past them.

[Fenrir]

Violet, your entry fee is: her human form. For the duration of the game, Violet will be trapped in her final transformation form, and will suffer all the penalties that normally entails.

Altair, your entry fee is: your heat vision. For the duration of the game, Altair will be unable to use supernatural senses to determine anything or anyone.

Erra, your entry fee is: her voice. For the duration of the game, Erra will be unable to speak. although if she attempts to speak the truth, her curse will still cause a lie to replace it in her mind (in other words Erra knows the truth because when she tries to say the truth it is replaced with a lie. and when she tries to lie, it comes out correct. this aspect of her curse is maintained within her mind despite the fact that she cannot actually speak the lie anymore.

Odette, Odile, Odira, your entry fee is: each other. For the duration of the game, Odette, Odile, and Odira will be three individuals in three seperate bodies. They will of course be able to recognize each other as the same person, but only Odile (the black swan) will recognize them as the other swans because the other two had no former knowledge of the swans to begin with.

Geoffry, your entry fee is: Justice. Geoffry will not remember who Justice is or why he would be important. He will remember being a butler, but will be unable to remember anything specific about his former master. Should he be told that Justice was his former master, he will be compelled to believe the person is lying, barring powerful evidence to the contrary.

Prince Altair;; The Reaper's Game

Altair awoke with a gasp, laying on the hard ground. It took him a moment to wake up, and remember what had happened. He could remember sitting in his cell, waiting for someone to come and get him so that he could be bought by other people. He curse for a moment realizing just how stupid of an idea it was to have human beings as "pets." Then he remembered that guy who had come to his cell door. He had said something about a game. Telling him to rules and the object of the game, most of them he had been too busy to pay close attention to. He couldn't really remember why. Then he remembered the last thing the man said.

Dead… Just thinking about the word forced him to remember everything, including the rules of the game fully and completely. Including the feeling of fear and anxiety that came off Altair when he listened to the man speak. This caused the boy to sit up in one quick motion. Dear gods of heaven and earth. He was dead, without powers, without a pokemon, in a stupid game, with stupid rules, and the worst part of the whole thing was, he couldn't SEE anything. He could hear the people walking past him and smell the scent of wine wafting from somewhere around him. But there was nothing he could see, not even with heat senses.

He felt his breathing pattern shift into a quicker pace (if that was possible when you were dead). He remembered the hunger and the exhaustion of waiting in his cell for so long. Nothing had happened for days on end. He had last track of time, and of his life obviously.

Well, nothing else to do, but find somewhere to go. That was when he felt the sharp sting on his right arm. He gasped in pain and felt for it. Nothing was there except his skin. Nothing. He didn't know what it was and soon had to forget about it because there was nothing he could do. What had the man said? He needed a partner. Where was he going to get a partner from? Well, first he had to get out of the road and find something to hang onto. So he stood up and held his hands out in front of him. He used his other senses to find somewhere to go. The scent of wine was the most obvious to him. So he followed his nose. Boy was this would be a wonderful time for a god blessing to see what was in front of him.

[Violet Grimshaw]

       Violette opens her eyes to a world unknown. Her eyes widen as she examines her surroundings. She gets up and looks her, noticing everything that is so much different that before. All that is familiar to Violette is her partner, Cherry, who sits quietly next to the purple haired girl, apparently unscathed. Violette smiles as she embraces her Pokemon. Cherry smiles brightly at her master at the expression of love.

Violette is happy to deduct that perhaps she fainted or mething while visiting another village, and that entire ordeal was an illusion or dream. Then, Violette notices that Cherry is in her own Reverse Forme. What?

       Violet looks down at herself to see the change that has occurred in her. Now, Violette begins  realize something: she definitely was not dreaming. Further watching the world around her, everything begins to flie through her mind. She wonders how she could possibly be in this forme, considering she's only ever known of it through instinct. She wonders how on earth she ended up here, and whether or not this is the "underground". She wonders if these people are all "Players" in that man's game. Then someone walks through Violette, literally through.

       At first, the physical transparency startles the purple haired girl, however, she remembers what the dark man had said. She looks around at the people who seem completely unaware of her presence. The only things she knows, is that  they are not from Diamond.  She guesses that they are all from Olivae, considering the fact that none of them hold themselves the way those Crystal Kingdom people do.  

        Thinking back to what the man had said about partners and "noises" Violette examines the area, flying above the crowds to see any who look off. She spots three girls lying on the ground near each other. Is that..Odette? Three of them? Disregarding the strangeness of the girls, Violette flies over to the girls and stands a short distance away, hoping they will wake soon. Lagging behind her is Cherry, who is floating along as fast as possible.

        While waiting, an itch on Violette's arm turns to pain as she looks at the forming marks. She guesses that this clock like mechanism has something to do with the games the man spoke of, but Violette decides not to do anything but wait for this girl, considering the man made it clear that partners are needed for survival.



       

[Sir Geoffrey]

Geoffrey awakens by a nudge on the shoulder from his companion, Faith. Looking into her eyes, Geoffrey realizes that there's noway he's dead, for he like to believe that Gardevoir would not be sent to the place Geoffrey would. Quickly, Geoffrey jumps to his feet as he dusts himself off, disgusted that his clothes were touched by the dirt.

Upon examination of his surroundings, particularly the clothing of those around him, Geoffrey deducts that he has been transported to Olivae. He wonders what kind of sick joke this is. Knocking someone out, just to send them to the land with the elves?! Geoffrey scoffs slightly before being passed through by a group of children. A loud gasp escapes Geoffrey's lungs as reality dawns upon him: he truly has been thrown full speed into the "game" the strange man spoke of.

Geoffrey's reathing begins to thicken as Faith tries her best to calm him. Faith finally resorts to using her "Calm Mind" power to stop Geoffrey's reaction from getting out of hand. "Thanks, Faith.. I suppose.. that man wasn't lying was he?" Faith gives a nod. "Well then.. I can't.. I can't.. I can't be scared.. I have to win.. maybe then.. things could.. go back

Geoffrey feels an itch on his arm as he look down. Looking with horror as his body is defaced by an unknown source, Geoffrey winces in pain as the marks finish being formed. He looks at the markijgs, assuming that they have something to do with the "game" he has been thrown into. Geoffrey decides that his priorities at the moment, should be decoding this strange marking on his arm, and finding a partner.

Geoffrey makes his way through the crowd, with ease no doubt, considering he can walk through all of it, until he sees a man nearing the side of the road. Being the first person that appears different than the others, Geoffrey shouts to him, however, his shout quickly quiets as his submisive side shows through.

"Hello there! My name is Geoffrey. And.. umm.. well.. Are.. are you a part of this "game" too? It's just that.. umm.. well, I'm.. I'm looking for a partner, and... you seem to be the only person who isn't.. a part of this scene."

As Geoffrey waits for a response, he wonders what the "entry fee" is for him. He looks at himself, however, he can see nothing missing, and he doesn't seem different to himself, so, he doesn't quite understand what has been taken from him. However, something, something subtle, is pulling at Geoffrey's heart; something telling him that something truly has gone missing..

[Prince Altair]

Prince Altair;; The Reaper's Game

He was still creeping toward the smell of wine when he heard someone call out into the air. He stopped, partly wondering how he had gotten this far with so many people around him and not run into a single one. But he forced it to the back of his mind. He had absolutely no idea what was going on around him and it made it even worse that he couldn't see any of it. He needed a guide or something.

He listened patiently and expertly at the person's tone of voice and he turned his whole body in that direction. So he had his attention. For a moment he hesitated, then, remembering what the man said about needing to trust someone or else, he began to make his way in that direction, following the voice that was calling out to him. Even if it wasn't to him that it was calling out to.

As he walked, he studied the voice. It was nervous and a bit self-conscious, but it was the only real voice that felt directed at him. Perhaps it was a trick. Maybe this whole game thing was a trick. If was definitely entertainment for this guy you had picked him up from his cell.

"You need a partner? So do I." He said as he came up next to the one talking. Then he paused shifted his weight. Wondering if he should tell the man that he was blind, or if he could already tell. However, his hat that he wore usually covered his eyes and lack of site pretty well. "What are we supposed to be doing?" 

[Erra]

Such a terrible pain on her arm... She opened her eyes to see that the ground was well right below her... Forgetting all about the pain in her arm she panicked to realize she was high up in a tree.... Not in a safe position either.. Her stomach was pretty much the only thing keeping her on the tree trunk, she began to panic, not enough to scream.. But just enough to freak out and well fall out of the tree with a small scream followed by a thump...

Lucky for her the fall was not far, and it only seemed to left a few bruises. She picked herself up and attempting to unconsciously saying "ouch ouch.." only to find that no words were coming out... Why were no words coming out? She looked around confused, where was she? This place looked familiar.. but it did not.. She noticed several others that seemed to be asleep and around the same area, who what? Where? Her mind cold not wrap around what was going on. She then remembered the terrible pain that had made her wake up, what was once clean scarless skin now had writing on her arm. She could not comprehend what it even meant, what was this a riddle? She turned to those around her, she could see their death dates... Wait... Death Dates.. Where were they're Death dates?!

Her eyes widen, the only ones with no death dates were those walking around like nothing was wrong... What was this? How could this be? She found tears and confusion swell up in her heart, what is going on? She saw a purple hair guy talking to a random guy near the road, both dateless... both dead... Maybe he would understand what was going on? No... What if she lied? Wait.. Could she even talk? In an attempt to talk to herself she began by saying "hello you there.." only to find noise... no not noise.. just sound of a soundless throat.. How could she not talk? How could this be? Maybe this was the best for everyone.. All she would do is lie... This is the best...

Just when she sunk to the ground and started to cry like a little lost girl, she realized something... Was she dead? Did she had a time on her head? She looked around for a near by water in a pale... She ran to it... looked at her reflection... Tears soon started to fall, she had months left.. Why did she die? How could this be... She sunk to the ground.. A mute girl... no.. A mute dead girl.. she had finally done it.. finally died... She felt so cold.. so lonely... This was what she deserved, but... but why so suddenly? What caused this?

Then that was when she remembered... The game... The game... A game she tempted to walk away from.. A game tha-wait the pin... The pin.. Where was the pin? She looked around... It was no where on her. She quickly ran back to the tree, anyone watching may thought her a madman... Tears still lurked in her eyes, but they were calmed down by this new goal, this new focus. She reached the tree she had fallen out of... She searched everywhere... no where.. Where was it.. Where was it.. Then she looked up.. and there it was in the branch sparkling... How.. annoying.

She called on her soul pokemon, wait... Where was... She looked around for it.. It was no where.... What the... How? Wait.. she was dead.. That means.. her soul... the swannas soul... The swanna was released from being trapped within her... That means the swanna left her.. Weren't they friends? no the word was simple... They weren't friends... She never trusted the swanna.. it was sent to spy on her by Cresselia... She could only grow wings because.. because... why could she truly grow wings? Confusion swam all around her, what was going on? Why could she grow wings... No that was not important was important was that pin. It meant something, she needed it, for what she did not know.. This game.. This game will have to be played.. Maybe then.. Maybe then everything would be understood.


Taking a deep breath to calm her mind and soul, she then began to climb the tree. Sadly for her the tree's bark was too rough and with the pain already in her arm she felt even more pain. Her strength was too weak to even get her up the tree... in reality this was a waste of time.. She would not get anywhere.. She would have to use it.. her powers... Take a deep breath she summoned the life within her bloodline then sent it out into the tree to get a small branch to grow and change shape, just enough to knock the black pin on to the ground near by. She let loose the life and broke her power, then immediately fell over huffing for breath. She used too much of her power... Her body was in horrible pain, her temperature raised, she began to feel sick and was temporarily immobile. For the next few moments....

[Sir Geoffrey]

As the man approaches Geoffrey, he can tell there is something wrong with the poor man. Something, maybe a handicap, or perhaps an injury. Something about the way he holds himself makes Geoffrey wonder if he is even capable of competing in the game. Regardless, Geoffrey is not the type to abandon anyone because of problems.

Geoffrey begins to reply while he thinks of an answer to the man's question.

"Well, I'm not entirely sure what our... mission is.. but.. umm.. I think these marks on our arms.. have something to do with the game.. and.. those men.. in the red outfits, I.. I think they are game people too. Oh, right.. I'd like you to meet my partner, Faith.

Geoffrey finishes with a smile as he steps aside so that Faith is in.. "view". Faith looks to the young man and bows, but only to please Geoffrey. After her nod, she shakes her head at Geoffrey as she begins to speak telepathically to him.

Sir Geoffrey, the man before you.. he is incapable of seeing. He is also of royal blood, although, not of Diamond I believe

If the man could see Geoffrey's face, the red shade would be incredibly obvious. Geoffrey begins to stammer as he begins to speak again.

"Oh, umm.. I'm.. I'm so sorry, I.. I.. didn't know that.. you were.. I'm sorry. Well, my partner is a gardevoir, and I'm purple eyed.. and.. uhh.. my hair is purple.. and I'm wearing a suit.. and..on our arms, there's a mark.. it's got a bunch of strange code on it.. and there's a number.. that seems to be ticking down..I'm so sorry..."

Geoffrey stops stammering now as he waits for a response, he hopes the response is less forceful that he imagines, however, imagination is much stronger in Geoffrey's mind at the moment than hope..

[Fenrir]

Scyther, your entry fee is: your Scyther-ness. For the duration of the game, you are The Legendary Pokemon: Arcanine. You are limited to the moves that Scyther already knows, but that Arcanine can use. Wether or not he has trouble using his new body is up to you.

NOISE REPORT: In the general area there are strange creatures. they look like frogs, but their hind legs look like...drawings? They are also really big; sitting at 2'6". They are ignored by the people of the RG, but will attack any Players that get near them. If you do not have a partner yet, they will flock to you like vultures. Most of these frogs are green. however, one in five is blue, and has a large number of tadpole-like things following it. These tad-poles are each about the size of a human foot.

The frogs attack by jumping on you: contact equals pain. the tadpoles will swarm around a Player, not hurting him/her but slowing them down immensely, like trying to walk underwater.

 

[Odette Nevermore]

The first to wake up was well... Odile, she wearing a black version of the outfit that her sister Odira was wearing, she looked around at all those that laid around... This could not be.. They were dead... They were in a game.. No.. No.. Why did they get picked? She picked herself up and look at the other swans, luckily only the main three seemed to have shown up.. The other swans must be looked up somewhere else... Probably in the main true body... Odette's body.. Ugh.. That goody goody two-shoes. She felt a moment of actually killing the other two swans, they were all already dead and it won't be too hard. It would seem she had a sword come with her, how convenient. Just a little slice, just a stab... Kill all the other useless swans, be the new Odette. Yes, no longer losing control, no longer getting sidetracked, no longer watching with no control of the Odette body. Just one slice...

The black swan found her hand wrapping itself around the sword hilt and beginning to pull the sword out, this should be quick and easy, just end it here for all the other swans. Right when she thought about actually making the swing and killing the swans she noticed how innocent how sweet the white swan slept... What would happen if the white swan died? Would she die too? No, she must not kill any of them.. They are all part of odette... Just pieces of Odette's mind, they must completely combine to be truly Odette... Whether the black swan wanted to admit it or not, she needed the other swans to truly be herself... Annoyed by this new understanding, the black swan slide the sword back into its hilt, gave a sigh then began to kick the other swans awake.

By kicking the red swan, immediately the red swan jumped up and unhilted her sword and charged the black swan, very very clumsily. "Die! Die! You ugly colored monster! You do not belong here! Red! Red shall rule all! Hahahaahaha!!"

A madwoman certainly, the black swan thought to herself, while rolling her eyes. How they both be from the same body? "Calm down, Odira. We're in a game... We need to team up.." Before she could even get the full explanation out Odira was running toward some random guy in a suite that certainly looked familiar, and of course was in mid swing to hit the purple hair freak, Only to stop mid second because sudden pain in her arm made her drop the sword, but this made her only angrier to pick up the sword and well run off a few feet away.

The fool... Odile gave a sigh and looked over to where a familiar person was standing, "Don't I know you from somewhere?" she asked the girl with long purple hair.

Odira noticing the newcomers, saw such ugly things they were... and stupidly started to charge them, swinging her sword, having no effect what-so-ever. "Die ugly beasts! Die! Red shall consume all!"Then it happened.. One touched her.. and burned her... Oh the pain... The pain only made her more angry. "Foul beasts!! Hurting Thee!" if she had powers... She would have been sending flames to the monsters. She did not quite remember that the monsters kill whomever without partners.

Odile turned to notice the fool trying to attack the monsters that where coming... "I am sorry, but apparently the fool is planning to get herself kill. May we become partners so that we can at least help rescue her from these wretched things? "

Odette still laid there sound asleep... She was unaware of the marking already on her arm, or the monsters coming nearer and nearer.

[Fenrir]

As Odira's blade swung down at the man in the red cloak, the man turned his head towards her slightly. A gust of wind blasted the girl and the Noise near her, launching her across the clearing. Anyone watching would swear the man hadn't moved an inch, merely looking at her. The blade no longer coming at him, the man's head turned forward again, his mouth never changing from it's bored expression.

The noise that were launched with Odira dissolve in midair, turning into what can only be described as OOC: "liquid television static" which then quickly dissipates into the air, leaving no trace there was ever anything there to begin with. Don't let your guard down, though, because there are more frogs where those came from...better find a partner soon! (there are now about 6 frogs per Player in the crossroads. don't forget the tadpole noise! they come in groups of 1 dozen per blue frog, and work in numbers to slow you down!)

This post is in the name of Altair, who was unable to post due to hardware problems.

At first Altair is almost relieved that the man didn't notice that he was blind. He almost sighed, but forced himself not to. But he had to force himself even more not to groan in annoyance as Geoffery (as he called himself) began to studded about not knowing he was blind. He wanted so much to roll his eyes if he could, but honestly he didn't really know how or care to know how. The only reason he would learn was to keep people from realizing that he truly was blind. He did however, shift uncomfortably before answering.


"Relax, its not a big deal. I'm not offended at all." Then he lifted his hand and placed to fingers over his mouth in a formal Desert greeting. "My name is Altair, I would be honored to be your partner if you are willing to take on the responsibility of being my guide. I can fight well enough, so you don't have to protect me. Thank you for describing the game for me. Tell me what it says on our arms. Perhaps I can understand."


Though he never got the chance to hear for this was the exact moment when he felt a searing pain seep into his trousers and shoot up his leg. He flinched and pushed himself away from whatever had sat next to him, fearing that whatever was around him would cause him more pain. Now he could hear their croaking. It was as if it had all appeared out of no where. None of the sounds were there before. He gasped as he heard another one jump towards him, giving him the chance to jump out of the way as quickly as his burnt leg would allow him.


He muttered an arabic curse under his breath. I need a weapon, badly. What are these things? Giant Frogs? Thats what they sound like.


"Geoffery, whats going on?!" He said desperately trying to keep himself from running into anything or anything running into him.

[Fenrir]

As Altair accepts the pact, there is a bright flash of sky-blue light, and the Noise that had been jumping towards Altair and Geoffrey stop and turn to the other Players who have not made a pact. the couple of frogs who have already begun to fight Altair are continuing to chase him down, however, and will not stop until they are dead, or he is.
