The man sat silently in the darkness. He was completely and entirely alone. Just like always. He had always been alone. He had been stuck in this trap for so long. So long. And even now it was only specific things that had to connect before he could take over the body without the body's knowledge. His eyes scanned the black snare that had held him for so long. This was his prison. But it no longer bothered him. Why would it? Why should it? It wasn't like he couldn't see anything. No he saw everything that Kane did. Yes… The pitiful little Kane. Oh what a child he was in an adult's body. It was too bad that Palkia hadn't given him permission to break him. To cause him to fall completely apart. While he did have all control over the mind, he had no control over the body. Not yet. But he would, when he gave Odile permission to blow that precious flute that Kane had so foolishly been carrying around.
A grin formed on his lips. This was his world and he could do whatever he wanted with it. He could make people, make different scenes, make even the most random things happen if he wanted to. Insanity himself was never bored. He always had something to do. That included planning and scheming. One of his favorite pass time activities. Also thinking about the pain and darkness that he could bring to the world, breaking their pitiful little lives and their sad little hearts. He laughed. He loved to laugh. It showed his authority. It expressed his feelings. It was his mark. Anyone who would hear his laugh would have nightmares and know that it was insanity that had slipped in and defiled their thoughts.
But now was a time to get down to business. Winning over the Odettes. His smile stayed on his lips as he moved through the darkness. When he reached what could be a barrier he set his gentle cold hand onto it and whispered something under his breath. The thin, breaking barrier flickered, allowing him to step through. He took on a soft and calm character as he stepped into the delicate mind of Odile. A gentle smile playing on his lips. "Odile… Odile. I know you can hear me. I miss you. I miss seeing you. Can you meet me in the garden? Please? I have something I want to show you. Meet me there when you can." And with that he slipped out of the barrier and allowed it to flicker back on. He could have punched right through it and taken the whole thing down with it. But he needed Odile to have some kind of sanity to be able to actually follow his voice. It was all just too easy.
He laughed to himself again as he slipped away into the darkness.
Kane stood over the stream that he had washed in before and shook his head. Something really wrong was happening. He hated it. He didn't want this to go on. And he couldn't do anything about it. Not yet. what was there to do? He clutched his fingers into a fist and set his jaw, furious that he didn't know anything. It wasn't right that he didn't know what to do. It wasn't good. He hated it. This was so strange. He usually knew what to do in this kind of situation. He couldn't go to Palkia to ask for help because it was the deity himself who had told him how it would end and he had AGREED to the deal. He shouldn't have agreed to it. He should have walked away when it was mentioned. He should have respectfully said "No." and walked away. But of course, he hadn't. Had it been his alter ego talking? He couldn't know. For some odd reason that pendant was missing. He still hadn't known what it was for, but he couldn't help feeling nervous about it's whereabouts.
