War rages on in the Seven Kingdoms in the aftermath of King Robert Baratheon's death. His Hand, Eddard Stark, has been executed as an alleged traitor, and Eddard's son Robb has been crowned by his bannermen as King in the North; now Robb acts against Robert's son Joffrey, now King of the Seven Kingdoms, to take vengeance for his father's wrongful death and to retrieve his sisters Arya and Sansa. Between them, Robert's brothers have each crowned themselves as the rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms. And across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen has risen out of the ashes of a funeral pyre, with three hatchling dragons at her side.

All across the realm, the great storm of conflict looms, and soon every man and woman will find themselves ensnared in the most dangerous game of all -- the game of thrones.

Note: A Roleplay of Ice and Fire is an AU text-based forum roleplay based on the bestselling A Song of Ice and Fire series by writer George R.R. Martin. The roleplay begins immediately after the events in the novel A Game of Thrones -- with a few changes, however, as this is an AU site.

The basic premise stays mostly true to canonical events, but you will find a few changes made with previous events that may affect what will happen on the forum later on. On this site, it is not necessary to stick to the events of A Clash of Kings and onwards -- we leave you with the premise and encourage you to develop plots between other members as you will.

Knowledge of A Song of Ice and Fire, whether gained from reading the books or watching the television series, is a plus and adds to the roleplaying experience, but is not required unless you intend to play a canon.
