Grace and Justice slowly walk into the feild that seems so full of life. Strange, almost crystalline flowers are in bloom all over, and nothing can be seen but the blossoms. Justice holds onto Grace tightly as the both of them look in awe over the beauty that is the advent of spring. Grace looks up at Justice and chirps, a sign that she wishes to get out of his arms; Justice complies.
He bends down and lets Grace out of his arms and the little egg being begins skipping and frolicking in the flowers as if it is just another day filled with joy. Justice smiles happily as he watches the creature he loves so much enjoying herself, not having to worry about feeling the negative emotions of another human being.
Justice looks at the ground which somehow seems to flow with the wind, and he watches as the flowers wave back and forth, creating the appearance of a single unit of flower moving in perfect unison. He watches as Grace playfully disrupts that wave by making ripples in the unison by jumping through the blooms, chirping happily as she does. The forgotten king stands silently and still, not wishing to ruin the beauty of the moment, the beauty that he wishes he could enjoy forever.
He thinks about his sister, and how she couldn't possible understand the importance of this beauty the same way he does, yet he still wishes that she could feel what he is feeling, for her sake, and for the kingdom's. He thinks about the kingdom and the effects he could possibly have, and he tries to imagine all of the possibilities. No..today is for Grace..not myself he thinks, trying to ignore his own wishes and dreams, allowing himself to concentrate on his companion.
Grace happily bounds around, being careful not to crush any of the blossoms that seem to reflect the light of the moon despite the fact that the sun is high in the sky. The flowers that seem to glow despite the fact that there isn't a shadow for the light to dispell. The flowers that seem to frozen in time to be moving, yet to active in the time stream to be living.
Justice slowly and surely begins to move, walking over to the area Grace is frolicking in, watching as she runs in circles, apparently thinking that she is getting somewhere. The lost prince chuckles lightly as he bends his knees to get to eye level with the creature he so adores. He looks his partner in the eye and speaks. "Grace..what else would you like to do today?" he says, looking into her eyes carefully, watching her reaction as if she would even think of lying to her master, to anyone really. Of course she wouldn't, it is just Justice's nature to assume that everyone doesn't speak their mind.
Grace gazes into Justice deep violet eyes for several moments, thinking about what she would like to do, somehow understanding everything her master said with ease. She thinks back to how the day began, thinking about the ice cream that Justice bought for her, something she didn't even know existed because of it's rarity and expense, my how she loved that ice cream. She thinks about the waterfall Justice and her ate breakfast at, and how Justice jumped in with her despite his obvious unwillingness. She thinks about how she convinced him to sing to her even though he didn't want to, and she thinks about how Justice let her play in the little crystal cave that he was too small to fit into.
She thinks about the strange creature that attacked the pair when they were travelling, and how she was completely defenseless against it, needing Justice's help to stun and get away from the beast. She realizes exactly how weak she truly is, doing nothing but enjoying life and having fun when her master is striving for a goal much greater than hers.
Grace realizes that the entire day has been spent on her, and she wishes to do something for her master, and she wants to become strong enough to help, so she chirps a bit, creating a Swift star in her hand, trying to make it seem like she wants to train, knowing that Justice needs someone to protect him, and she couldn't possibly do that with her strength.
Justice looks at Grace as she creates the tiny spell in her hand, and he wonders what on earth she could possibly be trying to say. "You want to play with stars?" Justice says, trying to figure his companion out, knowing that her only way of communicating is through her songs, the lyrics of which cannot possibly explain everything in life.
Grace dispells the star, realizing that she will have to use other methods to get her master to understand, so she begins thinking of the songs that her and Justice have sung together, her making the tune and Justice putting lyrics together for her. "Priiii" Grace says as she thinks, trying to think of a verse with the right set of words.
Grace looks into her master's eyes as she begins to hum, actually, it's more of a coo, reminiscent of her later evolutions who are much more avian in nature. The tune is beautiful and Justice knows it well, and he begins to sing the lyrics of the song that he himself wrote, trying to make sense of it as he does.
~I don't wanna be afraid
I wanna wake up feeling beautiful today
And know that I'm okay
Cause everyone's perfect in unusual ways
So you see, I just wanna believe in me~
Justice sings as he thinks about the overall meaning of the song. "Grace..you don't feel beautiful? Is that it?" he says as he looks at his companion, wondering how a Pokemon could feels such thoughts.
Grace shakes her head at Justice as she begins to hum once again, cooing only the first and last line of the just-sung chorus, hoping that Justice would understand from that.
Justice thinks about the lyrics again, thinking about why Grace would be afraid of something as he begins to worry. "Grace, what is wrong? What are you--" He says before thinking about he Pokemon that attacked the two earlier in the week. "Are you scared of something like that creature's attacking us happening again?" Justice asks Grace as he thinks of her partner's feelings.
Grace looks at Justice, wishing that she could say what she feels, knowing that she can't. She nods at Justice's comment, creating a star in her hand again, this time making it tiny, building its size up again, making it larger than a normal one, trying to show Justice her wishes.
Justice watches Grace's little display as he realizes what she wants. "You..you want to be..stronger?" Justice asks, watching as Grace nods in reply. "Grace..you don't need to be strong, I will make sure you are okay no matter what. You don't need to go into combat, and I wouldn't expect you to be able to, nor would I want you to be." Justice says, feeling intense emotion as he realizes just how much his ambitions affect his companion.
Grace shakes her head to Justice, not wanting him to blame himself for something that isn't his fault. She looks Justice in the eye, resolve filling her face as she begins to hum again, this time louder than before and with more power, yet the same amount of beauty.
Justice begins singing again, deciphering her tune with his own lyrics.
~Wanna give your heart a break
I know you're scared it's wrong
Like you might make a mistake
There's just one life to live
And there's no time to wait, to wait
So let me give your heart a break~
Justice sings as he looks at Grace, realizing that he's not been the only one growing along with his rebellion, but his partner of Light has as well, and with it has grown her heart. Justice understands what Grace wants, despite the song being taken out of context, and despite the tune being on of love and not determination, and he is proud of Grace for her resolve.
Justice looks to the sky, filled with clouds yet still allowing the sun to shine brightly. "Grace..if you want to train..then train we shall!" he says as he raises himself up, ready to begin something new. Grace chirps happily as she watches Justice think, not knowing what about, but knowing that whatever it is that he is thinking of, it will be something exiting, and she's sure she will benefit from it.
Justice looks to Grace as he begins to speak once more. "Okay, I have an idea. From what I know about your line of blood, your future forms should have a power to control and sense aura on par with that of the great God of Aura, and that means that there's a chance you could learn to control such an ability now, and become even stronger as you grow. Also..the power of aura is possibly the most beautiful in my eyes, since my ancestors apparently weilded it so strongly, yet despite my attempts, I've never been able to master it's power, so maybe you can." Justice says, hoping for a positive response.
Grace smiles at the idea, especially happy when she hears Justice comment about the fact that he likes the ability himself. She hops up and down and watches as Justice walks a bit from her into a different section of the field. He speaks to Grace from where she stands, trying to help her understand.
"Okay. I know that you can sense emotion quite well already, so right now, I want you to try to sense my emotion from where you stand." Justice says, a certain pep in his voice.
Grace nods as she tries to sense how her master is feeling, not feeling anything out of the ordinary, she usually only feels emotion when close to another, most preferably via touch, so trying to sense by looking is an entirely different aspect of power. She tenses her body up as she tries to force her ability and Justice smiles, realizing that this will be a long day, yet completely happy at that fact.
Grace quickly untenses her body and chirps happily at Justice as she begins to see the "emotion" that Justice is feeling when he feels the happiness of his realization. Justice claps for Grace before speaking once again. "Great job, Grace! Now then, try closing your eyes, and continue to focus on nothing but my emotion and my visage." He says calmly, not wishing to disrupt her focus.
Grace cocks her head slightly at the thought of closing her eyes, knowing that she feels other's emotion by a combination of their body expressions and their "feel", but she heeds to her master's command and closes her eyes, and the sense of Justice's emotion flees from her just as quickly as it came. Grace makes a sad chirping noise to Justice as she opens her eyes, expecting to see a sad face from a disappointed master, only to be greeted by a smile.
"That's okay Grace, you're trying to do something you aren't even supposed to be able to, things like this take time. Let's try again" He says, watching as the little egg Pokemon tries her hardest to get a read on Justice with her eyes open. Justice notices her eyes light up when she finds Justice emotion, and he nods to her, signaling for her to close her eyes once again.
Grace does so, closing her eyes, this time more calmly, realizing that Justice doesn't expect expedient work, only that she try her best, and she does, and with a smile, she realizes that she can see..something. The faintest sillouette of her master lies within her thoughts as she tries to visualize what Justice called "Aura". Grace chirps happy and jumps a bit before realizing that her shift in concentration caused the visage of aura to disappear. "Toge..prii..." She chirps at Justice, once again disappointed in herself.
"It's okay, Grace, you are making must faster progress than I would have expected, so don't feel bad." Justice says, meaning every word. Justice and Grace look at each other and Grace proceeds to continue the cycle once again, when she "sees" Justice Aura despite having her eyes closed more fully this time, being able to make out what she sees as human, she once again becomes exited, this time not even losing her focus.
"What can you see, Grace? Can you see me fully? Or is is still blurry?" Justice asks, understanding as Grace shakes her head that the process isn't completely done. Grace continues to hold the image in her mind, however, so she begins to concentrate more, her eyes clamped shut as her mind struggles to get ahold of what could be a completely different world for all it knows. Finally, as if in a flash, Grace sees the perfect outline of Justice's body, even being able to sense what his face looks like, yet he is a strange purple color and the air around him glows with the same light.
Grace chirps happily as she moves her body in a circle before realizing what else she can "see" with her eyes closed. Around her, over the entire field, she can see the flowers, and she can see the grass, and she can see the tiny tiny creatures that seem to be existing in the ground, and each and everything she sees has its own color, and all of it is beautiful yet revealing.
Grace concentrates some more over the next few minutes as Justice remains completely silent, allowing Grace to revel in her new discovery all on her own. As she does, she realizes something, that though it is faint, even the air around her, and the clouds above her, and the dirt beneath her, and the light surrounding her, even all of those things glow with the same light that Justice and the flowers do. All of those things, despite not having life on their own, have a light so subtle it would take quite a bit to realize it without sheer concentration, which Grace is trying her best to hold.
The final thing Grace realizes with her eyes closed, watching the light of the world despite the lack of light sense, is that despite her being stationary, she can somehow see the entire field if she wants too. Somehow, perhaps by shifting the postion of her mind..or..her aura, she can see things that she couldn't even see with her eyes open, and yet she can see them with the same clarity. All the way on the other side of the field Grace "stands" looking at herself and Justice standing in the field on their own, and the awe that this brings is nothing to gloss over.
Grace finally opens her eyes after quite a bit of time of her just enjoying her newfound ability. Of course, this ability is all fun and interesting, but Justice knows that such an ability really won't allow her to defend herself when in a battle, especially not one of power, so he asks her a question. "Okay Grace, I'm guessing that you can now "see" the aura of the world around you, yes?" She nods in reply. "Well, how would you like to put that to good use?" He asks with a smile. Of couse, Grace chirps happily.
"I thought so. Now, concentrate on your surroundings just as you did before, but this time, concentrate on one section, a small section, something near to you that is small enough for you to grasp with your hands. Now feel that energy, and feel that power that doesn't seem to be there with your eyes, but you know is there with your heart." Justice says, seeming to know quite a bit despite his not being able to weild what he is speaking of..
Grace complies with Justice's wishes and closes her eyes, focusing on the air in a small cube in front of her, and she tries to feel it just as Justice said, even going to far as to reach out at try to touch it, and, when she does, it is as if a spark of energy is created, literally. As if the real world and the "aural" world had collided in a display of light, a "spark" or aura flies out from Grace's hand. Of course, the spark was tiny, and most likely harmless, but it's a start.
"Great job, Grace! I could see that spark myself! That little spark you made, I want you to concentrate and try to make something like that again, but this time, try grabbing onto the spark and don't let go." Justice says, watching the being less than a tenth his size do something he's wanted to do since he learned of his lineage.
Grace once again concentrates, this time more carefully as she reaches out her hand to the spot on which her mind is concentrating, and she grabs at it rather than swatting as she had before. This time, for just a fleeting moment, the held the spark in her hand, and a subtle pinkish blue wisp was floating above her hand, both "Aurally" and physicaly.
Justice smiles as he watches, and he speaks once again. "Good, Grace. You are going wonderfully. Now, try again, and remember to concentrate on only what you are grabbing at." He says, his faith in Grace's abilities surely standing.
Grace concentrates once again, this time holding onto the "wisp" of aura for quite a bit of time, watching as it forms into what appears to be an orb of some sort. The orb looks like water, flucuating in intensity and shape, yet it is there, and Justice watches as it forms. "Good, now..try to control it. Shape it to your own will, don't just hold it; control it." Justice says to Grace as he watches in awe as a power is unlocked before his eyes.
Grace holds the orb in her hands as she listens to what Justice said, trying her best to "control" the orb to her bidding, and, for the most part, she actually does. The orb which is still floating above her hand, is slowly growing in size as she wishes, yet she can't seem to shape it, only increase its size, and as the size increases, the form becomes more filled with entropy, and eventually the disorder causes the orb to disperse into pinkish blue sparkling dust that slowly dissipates as it falls.
Grace, not needing any help form Justice this time, concentrates once again, this time even more carefully than before, and she creates a wisp just like before. This time, however, she uses both of her hands to weild it, forcing what seems to be her own aura into it with one hand, while shaping and increasing the orb's size with the other. The result: One orb of pink-purple energy that is firm and spherical in shape, and large in size, something that could actually be throne and used in battle.
Justice smiles at Grace as she releases her focus after launching the orb into the air, causing it to explode after reaching its peak. Justice rushes over to Grace, who is now jumping up and down and chirping for joy at her success. "You did it Grace! You did it!" Justice says as he grabs his partner up in his arms, tossing her into the air and catching her as she enjoys so much.
Grace giggles as she is tossed and her body begins to encase itself in light, a sight that Justice stops and looks at as he holds his companion in his arms. "Grace, what's going on? Are you alright?" Justice says as he tries to think of a reason for Grace's sudden burst of light. Soon the light becomes so bright that it is basically unbearable, and Justice is forced to look away, never for a moment letting go.
When he turns back and looks at his companion, what he is looking at is not the Grace that entered this field with him. "Toge..tiiic!" Grace coos loudly as she looks at the lower half of her body which is no longer encased in a shell. She looks at her back which now sports a pair of wings which are tightly placed next to her torso. She nudges Justice lightly as he watches in awe as the Grace he knows crawls out of his arms, and spreads her wings, and flies. Grace; flying.
Justice's smile is now uncontainable as he watches the creature he so adores fly around with ease, spinning and spiraling, flipping and rolling, and in the air, and all with a happiness like none she's experienced before. Grace flies back to Justice and lands on his head, sitting complacently upon it just as she did before her change, and Justice pets her carefully, making sure that she's real as the two slowly begins to walk away from the apparently crystal flowers.
As the two walk, the sun slowly sets, and the entire field glistens with the orange-pink light of the sun's descent over the horizon, and as the two walk away from the sun and back to their home, Grace coos once again, and this time Justice sings right along with her, the two creating a beautiful harmony as they go along.
~Now I'm a warrior
I've got thicker skin
I'm a warrior
I'm stronger than I've ever been
And my armor, is made of steel, you can't get in
I'm a warrior
And you can never hurt me again~
He bends down and lets Grace out of his arms and the little egg being begins skipping and frolicking in the flowers as if it is just another day filled with joy. Justice smiles happily as he watches the creature he loves so much enjoying herself, not having to worry about feeling the negative emotions of another human being.
Justice looks at the ground which somehow seems to flow with the wind, and he watches as the flowers wave back and forth, creating the appearance of a single unit of flower moving in perfect unison. Justice says, watching the being less than a tenth his size do something he's wanted to do since he learned of his lineage.
