A small sack held the items that he required for the ritual, which he held lazily in one hand. The other hand possessed a scroll that he had found available in some miscellaneous shop somewhere around the village. The young man glanced to the side, seeing the sharp rocks that waited hungrily for him to fall and impale himself upon them. The moon shined over his white garments and scarlet hair, and the wind swept through the cliffs. Wails and screams could be heard faintly in the horizon, though they were most likely the breeze.
Standing over the cliff side, Aurelius walked over to where he could get space to conduct the ritual described within the scroll. He dropped his bag and his scroll, opening the former so that he may empty the contents on the floor in front of him. Two mushrooms of differing sizes, a blue crystal, a mortar and pestle set, and a pouch of stardust were laid out. The next step was to grind them all together. He took the mortar and stuffed the items into it, subsequently pounding at it with the pestle. Once they were made into a fine dust, Aurelius sprinkled them on the floor to form a wide circle. The circle and the scroll glowed once he had emptied the mortar.
He grabbed the scroll and opened it up, stepping dead center inside of the circle that he had just made. The demigod read it over once and then twice, seeing a single word in an ancient language at the bottom. With no other instructions provided to him, he spoke the word aloud...
As Lucan speaks the incantation, the ground around the circle begins to throb, the pulses following the rhythm of the spoken words themselves. The sky begins to churn, the air itself humming as the incantation continues, Lucan's voice reverberating throughout the island, distorted and magnified till it sounds like some great beast is growling. The waves of the ocean begin to crash against the cliffs bellow, far louder than before. By now Lucan is sure he should have run out of breath, but there are still words on the page, and whatever magics this ritual invokes somehow also sustains his breath.
As the air itself began to thrum with the weight of the incantations, Lucan feels something inside of him reacting, like his spirit is beginning to vibrate, even resonate, with the words. Within him, Lucan can feel it as his spirit separates from his body, so that a vaguely humanoid figure with pink skin and large wings stands to his left, facing him. But his insides are still throbbing, pulsing, even undulating with the power of the ritual, and a different spirit steps out of his frame, this one coating in a layer of darkness, only one eye showing through the shadows, which stands to his right, so that the three are the three corners of a triangle.
Now at the bottom of the page, but unable to stop if he wanted to, Lucan chants the final words, the two spirit-forms in front of him chanting alongside him, as the paper disintegrates in a pulse of energy, and for a split second reality jumps, as though the whole universe just moved 2 inches to the right, and the everything jolts violently...
When Lucan wakes up, he is laying in the middle of where the circle used to be. the powder he used has been burned, leaving the lines of black that occur when grass which is still green is lit on fire. Looking towards the main metropolis, Lucan can see that there are no pillars of smoke, or any other indication that the citizens suffered, aside from fear and shock. The major change, however, is within Lucan himself:
The desperate energies within Lucan have been normalized, somehow mixed together such that they are not harmful to him like mixing them would have been in the past. He can feel the Φnull energy within him, like when you wake up in the morning, and even though you're stomach is empty you feel full. There is a strange feeling in the back of his head, and suddenly knowledge starts pouring through his head...
OOC:Lucan will inherently know everything listed bellow; In the general sense: all of Lucan's light-dark powers have been swapped with his null powers: He can use his null powers at will, but using only light or darkness will require concentration and risk to separate the null energy within him into it's composite parts. Additionally, Lucan still has his wings, although they have been nullified into silver-grey wings that give a slight hint of angularity, as opposed to his mother's smooth curves. Lucan's ability to fade in and out of others dreams has been enhanced, and he can now put people to sleep or wake a sleeper up. He cannot alter dreams he has invaded, however, due to the primary reason for these shifts in power:
Lucan has become The Lesser God Of Dreamless Sleep. As such, Lucan can remove both dreams and nightmares from a person's mind, while leaving them in a light sleep, or by waking the sleeper up outright. He cannot, however, give dreams or nightmares, for obvious reasons.
As Lesser God of Dreamless Sleep, Lucan is instantly privy to certain knowledge, acertained through the awakening of his godly persona. This will be PMed to you. Additionally, any children he may have will be full-blown demigods, instead of being only a quartogod.
