Traveling around the mountain, searching for people or pokemon in need today brought no fruits to his labor. At least no one is in trouble. he thought as he slowly made his way through the thick snow. Even with his height, he spotted no one in need in all directions, not even a soul. Maybe today is more peaceful. he thought as he looked to the far away human villages in the distance. Flickering with light in the late evening, it looked beautiful. "How nice. I wish I could go there, but I might be too much of a bother." he uttered softly in his voice. He couldn't stop worrying about beings in need, kept looking around in case someone needed his help. I might as well keep looking, there's always enough time. he thought, his spirits high, but at the same time paranoid. Today was moving in a crawl, nothing happening. It was peaceful enough with nothing happening, it meant that there was nothing wrong in his world. He looked at the sky, watched as it changed to a very clean dark blue. He enjoyed times with himself, but eventually he wanted to be with someone else. With no one in the mountains at this hour, there was a very likely chance that he won't have company this night. Not that I really want to bother someone. he thought, looking back at the warm town.
A young man, maybe in his twenties, walks through the mountains alone, his eyes weary from so much traveling. The man thinks about what happens as his mind flashes back to his wife, still stuck in that snow alone. Why did I come here..Why didn't I listen to Thelma and book our honeymoon somewhere else?[/s] The man thinks, his mind in agony as he tries to walk through the snow.
Hello! Anyone! Can anyone hear me! I need help! Please! Please!" the man shouts, his voice cracking from shouting so much over the last half hour. The man looks to his hands, which are now noticeable turning blue; he doesn't regret any of the pain, though, giving his gloves to his wife was the smartest thing he could possibly have done, at least in his mind.
The man continues to wander, his aim: finding civilization of some sort. All he needs is to find someone, anyone, who is willing to help him pull his wife out of the snow. But who would be out in this blizzard..
(OOC: This is an NPC post, and Fenrir or Ginger could take over at anytime if they so wish..)
Hearing a call for help in the distance, Borealis turned and perked up. Someone needs my help. he thought as he shuffled as quick as he could to the source of the sound. He climbed up a hill, and spotted a lone human man, struggling in the snow and obviously very cold. "Are you quite alright? Is anyone with you?" he crooned in his tongue. He carefully lowered his head eye level to the the small human, nudging him carefully. He blew his warm breath on him, hoping to warm the human up a tad. He picked the human up gently and placed him on his warm back, hoping to still warm him up, for his hands were truly worrying him. He paused, looking at the human, waiting to here if he had a companion that too needed Borealis' help.
The man, ready to collapse from the sheer cold of the air, looks up as he prepares to fall to the ground. What he sees isn't at all what he was expecting when he was crying for help. A..Pokemon? What is a Pokemon... the man thinks as he tries to figure out what the creature is.
The man's eyesight is blurry from exhaustion, so he can't really tell what the creature is. However, one thought is in his mind as the creature approaches, the thought that this creature is just like the one Thelma told him about. The man thinks back, remembering his wife telling him about the scary Ice type that goes around and freezes you just so that they can eat your innards.
I hope..that's not a.. the man thinks, his mind itself slowly freezing. As the Pokemon gets close, the warmth of the creatures breath alone is like something the man has never known. Ignoring whether or not the creature is here for harm or good, the man takes advantage of the warmth given by the creatures body.
"Th-th-thank y-you. I'm--Jack. Please-if you can under--stand me..My wife..she's tr-trapped. U-up there." the man says, his voice breaking under his chattering teeth as he points up the mountain, past the tree line. The man's arm falls to his side as his body slowly drifts into unconsciousness..Thelma..please..be..okay..
He has a wife? What's a wife? Borealis thought as he made his way slowly towards where Jack had pointed. Poor man, I better hurry. he thought as he tried to speed his slow approach to where the man's special person was. As he climbed the hill, he caught sight of a still figure, stuck in the snow. He pushed on, trudging through the snow until he was very close to the female. He nudged her, seeing if she was awake or not, but regardless, he carefully picked her out of the snow and placed her on his back along with the human male he helped. I hope I can reach the town fast enough. he thought as he slid back down the hill, and headed towards the human village in the distance. Hoping his body heat would keep them warm, he moved as hast as his stubby legs could go.
Jack opens his eyes as he hears something in the distance. "Help...me.." said a voice, in a whipser so quite its strange that he heard the noise over the howling. Jack tries to sit up, but all he can do is lean on the creature that is carrying him.
A young woman with blond hair is who had uttered the words of distress. Her body literally lay under pounds upon pounds of snow, so much snow that every breath she takes taxes her body beyond her normal limit. All she had to live for was her husband's promise to return with help, but really, how would he ever find hope in a place like this? Am I..going to..fre-- She thinks as her body is lifted by an unknown being.
All Thelma feels is the sublte warmth, and her husband's hands he clutches his wife's. Thelma tries to open her eyes, but it is as if the snow has frozen them shut. Eventually, after Jack has thoroughly crushed his own wife's hand with his own, she opens her eyes, expecting to be on a sled of some sort, but what she sees, is a..Pokemon?
"You there! Who goes there!" Shouts a voice in the distance, if approached, it would become apparent that this man is from the closest human town, and he is closing the gate to the small village. Regardless, the husband and wife do nothing to acknowledge the fact that anything else is happening around them, they merely hold hands, straining to keep their eyes open, holding onto every ounce of heat the creature on which they are laying gives off.
Jack speaks quietly, not for an instant looking away from his wife's beautiful blue eyes. "You..you s-saved us..th-thank you.." he says, wondering if they are moving toward the voice..
The man that shouted earlier stands at the gate, trying to see through the snow and darkness, swearing that he had heard something crunching the snow. The man will soon give up and go back inside, closing the gate and locking it for the night, if he does, wherever will the nice Pokemon take the icy newlyweds?
Borealis tried to move quickly towards the gate, but he was too slow. Wherever shall I take them? Maybe to my cave? he thought as he trudged back through the snow, heading towards his home deep within a cave. He ruffled his sails, hoping to shield the two from the buffeting snow. He turns to the two, making sure that they were both alright. He looked them closely, eyes full of concern. He turned back, his sails changing a slightly dark shade of blue. He made his lumbering way back towards his cave, hoping to hurry and take care of them in the safety of his cave. Eventually he climbed his way to the cave, hidden from the blizzard, dark and cold. It's not much, but it is my home. he thought as he went over to his cache of food, taking a few pieces and laying down, dropping the food next to him and nodding to the humans to get off and eat. Make themselves comfortable.
Jack and Thelma begin to shiver excessively, and as their direction turns, Jack himself wonders if maybe the creature is only helping because the two are his next meal. Jack opens his eyes wide enough to see the cave, and he begins to worry about what happens next. However, when the Pokemon grabs some food and offers the two some, motioning for them to get off and eat, Jack's mind is, in a way, releived.
Thelma is the first to get off, sitting down for a moment, not knowing what to do, just staring at the food in a trance like manner. Not even knowing what it is she is eating, she grabs the food and places it into her mouth, happy to give into her hunger.
Jack, on the other hand, is slow to get off, and even slower to begin eating. He looks over the food for quite some time, not sure if he should eat it. After several minutes, he gives in and eats, listening to his stomach over his mind. The two look at the Pokemon that has helped them, their bodies shaking intensely as they stare at their savior.
"You..You are so..kind..I-i-i don't know how to th-thank you" Jack says, his voice shaking even more now, despite the cave being slightly warmer.. Thelma says nothing, just looking at the Pokemon, wondering what it is..wondering if they'll die of the cold..
Using the crystal structures on his side to freeze the entrance, leaving a small gap for air. Looking down on the humans, Borealis sighed. They worry me so. he thought as he curled his tail protectively around the humans, hoping to warm them more. They were shaking so much. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. And you don't have to thank me." He said, though it probably only sounded like, "Auuuur." to the humans. He must have looked terrifying, a huge dinosaur of cold color. He lowered his head level to the humans, looking inquisitively at the humans, wondering if they needed something more.
Thelma stares in awe as the creature freezes the entire entrance up, creating a wall with nothing but a hole for air in between the beings and the blizzard. Thelma coughs a bit, her lungs hurting from the cold air, but she doesn't even try to readjust herself, she just holds her husband's hand, wondering about her fate.
Both members of the pair look at the creature as he utters a sound at them. Of course, they don't quite understand what the creature is saying, but its face lets them know that the Pokemon before them means no ill will. The newlyweds attempt to smile despite their situation.
Jack looks at the creature as he or she wraps its tail around the two. The new husband's first instinct is to push the tail away, protecting his wife from others, but his body is merely too weak to do anything, so he 'allows' the creature to proceed in his apparent attempt at bringing warmth to the pair.
Jack looks at the creature as it lowers itself to their level, and he hopes with all of his heart that his wife will be alright. Jack and Thelma's eyes close and the two slowly drift off into sleep, Jack trusting a Pokemon with both of the pair's life, the both of them staying asleep until the first signs of morning show, when they slowly lift their heads up to look at their surroundings.
Borealis curls himself up around the two humans, somewhat relieved about them being safe. He stays awake for a little longer than the humans, making sure that they were both as comfortable as they could be. Listening to the wind howling outside, he sighed. I hope they're okay. he thought, falling quietly asleep with his large head nearby the couple. As the morning sun shone through the crystal like wall of ice he created, Borealis stirred. He uncurled his neck from the humans, and stood up. He looked down on the small humans, and yawned. He tapped on the ice wall, breaking it with ease, and gesturing the two to follow.
Jack and Thelma both get up at the same time. They look at each other with eyes of unbelief. For the first time since before they were separated, both of their eyes can see the other's, and heaven forbid anyone separate their gaze.
Thelma and Jack embrace for a moment before both of them turning to see the Ice wall breaking as a result of the Pokemon breaking it itself. They look at the creature, who obviously want the pair to follow, and smile, knowing that the being wants nothing but to help them.
Thelma and Jack step out of the cave and look over the mountain range. Everything, and that means everything, is completely covered with snow. Even the highest peaks of the highest mountains tops are white with the substance that so easily almost took the pair's lives. No ordinary human could traverse the ever expanding whiteness without getting lost, but something tells the two that the Icy Pokemon knows what it is doing.
Both Jack and Thelma are still very weak, their rest only partially helping their problem, but they still look to their Pokemon guide, ready to follow, trusting in the creature that saved them to help them yet again.
Borealis paused in his giant steps, looking back at the two. I do hope they'd be alright for the walk to the village. he thought as he continued towards the warm, glowing town. Walking down the mountain's safest path he knew, looking back every once in a while to make sure that they were alright and still following him. He ruffled his sails, waving them in the chilly air, scattering lights around. Climbing through the cold snow, passing by rock outcrops, and eventually, he made it to the human town gates. He stopped at a few paces away from the gate, smiling warmly at the two.
Jack and Thelma patiently follow the creature, trusting in the fact that it knows where it is leading the two. Both of the two lag quite a bit every once and a while, but overall they continues in their walking quite effectively for the amount of snow.
Thelma watches as the beauty of the creature shines through, literally. "Your sails are quite beautiful..Thank you..for helping us" Thelmas says as she continues walking.
As the pair see the town, both of them look with eyes explosively joyous at the creature that brought them. Both of them look at each other before looking at the creature, motioning for him to follow.
The two look around for any signs of life, not finding any until the man that had closed the gates the night before appears, walking on the sidewalk. "Hello there, strangers! What brings yo-" he says before noticing the shape the two are in. "Oh my. You two look freezing! Here, follow me. Your companion can follow too." the man says, carefully guiding the two into a large warm building with huge windows. The man tells Jack and Thelma to wait while he runs for some blankets, so they do as they look to see if the creature followed.
Borealis looked curiously to the humans motioning him to follow them. So he did, following them, making sure that they were still alright. Entering the town he always wanted to go to, happily looked around the buildings. He watched as the two humans entered the building. He looked through the window, looking for the two humans. When he found them, he waved his sails, creating more rainbows in the room. If only they understood me. But what do I have to say? Oh well. he thought. Being a giant dinosaur in the middle of a town did attract a little attention...
