Gensokyo....

A mythical world surrounded by the Great Hakurei Border.

For thousands of years, the people in this world have been cut of from the outside world, technology and of course, the people.



The world of Gensokyo has links to supernatural places that people from anywhere else would have no access to;

The heights of Heaven,

The hounds of Hell,

The magic of the Moon.



Most importantly, the world of Gensokyo is inhabited by mythical creatures known as youkai. To someone from outside Gensokyo, they look like normal people with strange features from cat-ears to long red noses.



To people in Gensokyo, they are considered dangerous creatures with mythical powers which hunt humans for different reasons, usually to eat them.



That's why certain exceptional humans do one thing: Youkai Extermination.



We need more people to sort out these problems. We need more people to keep the balance of Gensokyo. No-one knows what could happen if... if...
