methinks i need a mod to tell me who or what hatches Or maybe theres a guard or guide or something, dunno...

Nix wandered to the cave mouth, her hand shaking in both fear and excitement. She had been here before, she had done this all before and nothing had come of it. She shivered again before a soft mewing comforted her, shadow was draped over her shoulders and was now rubbing her little head against her sisters. Nix smiled and lifted a hand to stroke her little eevee before she took a step in to the cave, was shadow allowed in here? Should she just start wherever? She had done that before and nothing happened...

She gave  a little sigh before she took a step back, even worse, what if something she didnt watch hatched. Nix was picky, she knew she was. The pokemon she wanted on her team were few and small, if she got something she didnt want or didnt like she would only keep it long enough to gain the others and then trade or sell it on. Simple as. She knew that, shadow knew that but this newborn wouldnt. She felt almost bad for it but it was just the way she was, she so didnt know how to do this! She sighed again and shadow gave another mew to comfort her but nix just didnt know where to start, should she just walk in and start the whole thing? Or wait for someone to guide her?

A guard had approached the girl and looked her over, "Alright missy you can go ahead. Come out immediately with the egg as soon as it starts hatching. You have only five minutes in the cave, after that you must leave and try again next Fall. " He then waved her in, there was only one exit, so he would know if she hatched an egg or not.

The actual cave itself was lined neatly with hundreds upon thousands of pokemon eggs, a civilian merely had to move their hand on each egg hoping that egg would hatch for them. The pokemon inside the eggs may force themselves to hatch just to be with that character, or may force themselves to never hatch for fear of the human-Pokemon world. Sometimes they just hatch to hatch, you can never tell with the Pokemon and their true hearts.

The length and width of the cave is about the size of a ballroom and goes a pretty long time, in the darkness few can even see the back of the cave till they smack it with their heads, some believe the cave go forever. The cave looks pretty plain no diamonds, no jewels, nothing particularly shiny or rare, most of that was stolen already or mined out before the Cave of origins was opened to the public. It may be true that there is some sort of rare item hidden somewhere between rocks, but it is highly unlikely.

Nix took another worried step forwards and then back again, she must look so stupid. She gave a small growl at her own silliness before she heard footfalls behind her and she started, then took a moment to turn. She spotted the guard walking over to her and he spoke simply and waved her in, well he didnt say she couldnt take shadow. So she would. "Thank you, see you in a moment i hope" she said with a nod of her head, better be polite and what not.

She took another, bolder, step in to the cave and then nodded her head again. Here we go, she was doing this for herself. Her first ever free pokemon that fate had given her, or chose not to as time would tell. She flicked out her right hand and it touched the surface of one of the eggs, it was rough to her fingers but the second seemed much smoother. Well different pokemon would have different eggs, she really hoped therent werent a poison types. Arceus knew she didnt want to run her hand over a slimy egg in the dark of the cave, something that was growing over her and she felt a little unease shiver through her body. Did she just keep walking? What happened if nothing hatched? Would the guard come in and get her? Or did she have to walk out in shame? She gave a little sigh before her fingers brushed another egg and she turned to it, this one was nice enough. Why not this one. She couldnt see it, it didnt feel nasty and she really could do with another pokemon. Nothing, she gave it a few more seconds but nothing happened. And so on she walked

Each of the eggs touched were attracted to the trainer that touched them, minus the odd pokemon, but all were no ready to hatch. The further Nix went down the more intense the eggs wanted to hatch and show their truselves. Finally a certain egg.... This egg looked regularly white with green spots, particularly boring as heck egg started to move around and began to vibrate and make cracking noises. This egg was going to hatch, this egg was going to be hers. What will it hatch too? A deerling that's who. This deerling will change color with the season, you know like all deerlings.

Nix felt like she had been in here for hours, nothing moved as her fingers passed the shells and she felt more and more on edge. Each egg looked and felt so different, surely one of them would be hers. She spotted the way out looming ahead of her and part of her wanted to run back and start over but there was a time limit as well as room in here, that really wouldn't work out. She sighed again and shadow mewed on her shoulder, something comforting at least. She had her shadow. A little sound behind her made her pause however and she turned her head with a shocked yelp, what had she done? Had she broken an egg?

She turned to see a most boring and normal looking egg, nothing about it seemed very special. Oh, aside the fact it was moving. She rushed over too it and picked it up in her arms, it wasnt a small egg which made her a little excited to see what would come from it but would it hatch out here? In the cave or should she go outside so it could hatch with the sun on its face, she wouldnt have wanted to be born in the dark so her mind was set! She turned and walked as quickly but carefully as an excited teenager can until she came to the cave mouth and ducked outside, the guard was still there and the egg was still cracking in her grip so it seemed it would be now or never! She bent down to place it on the ground and shadow jumped down from her perch on her sister should, both their eyes trained on the egg to see what would come out. The first thing to break free was the back legs of the little thing and then came the front, an amusing image of a walking egg then ensure for a few second before shadow flicked a paw up and cracked the shell around the pokemons face. The newborn deerling stumbled to one side as the sun hit his face for the first time and then he stumbled too far, nix fell forwards on to her knees to catch the baby as he tipped to one side to stop him from hitting the ground. This was brillant
